Grand Master Humesky

Professor Eugene A. Humesky, was born on Dec. 5th, 1921 in the Western
Ukraine and has over 68 years in the martial arts. He is one of America's leading
authorities in the art of TaeKwonDo.
The Grand Master started training in JuJitsu in 1938.

During WWII he was at the Eastern Front fighting against the Red Army. He spent
3 1/2 years in a P.O.W camp in Italy, then lived in England (1946-51) and in
Canada (1951-53). In 1953 he married his present wife Assya, and one year later
joined her in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she was teaching at the University of
Michigan. Assya, retired from the U of M in 1998 as Professor Emerita. They have
two sons, Rick and Gary; Gary is a 3rd Dan in Tae Kwon Do. They have six
grandchildren.
In 1972, Grand Master Eugene A. Humesky founded the U.T.B, Inc. and in 1994
founded the U.M.A.B, Inc.

HIS INTERESTS:
listening to music (Classical, South American, Blues, African American
Spirituals), philately (USA, UN, Soviet Union, Ukraine). In his younger years
he loved to dance and was active in sports (volley ball, soccer, badminton,
track & field). Today he enjoys reading (adventure tales, sci-fi, scientific
journals dealing with astronomy and cosmology; his greatest interest is in
philosophy and comparative religions, Western as well as Oriental,
particularly Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
He and Assya are active members in the Catholic church.
